I have been in and around the fashion industry for about 25 years. Most of that time I have been working for myself designing one-off outfits for individual clients as well as corporate uniforms.
My original pattern-making training started out at A T I just over 20 years ago. 5 years ago I decided to pursue my interest of photography, so 20 years later I am back at what is now A U T, where I completed a bachelor of arts degree doing costume design and photography.
Some of the competitions I have entered, have been Benson & Hedges (then becoming The Smoke Free) which I was a highly commended finalist, I was a finalist in the 2001 World of Wearable Art Awards (menswear section), also winning an award (with a small collection of 8 menswear outfits) for the Kaakahu Young Designer Fashion Scholarship Trust part of the prize was to exhibit my collection at the New Generation Fashion Show at Australian Fashion Week 2002.
Doing fashion photography combines my two loves and with an inquisitive nature I am always looking for new an interesting things to photograph or design. I enjoy doing things that are a bit different with a difference.
